The Coast Community College District is seeking public input in revising the District Hazard Mitigation Plan. Through May 15, students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are invited to participate in the districtwide survey: Are You Prepared for the Next Disaster?

From pandemic to fires and earthquakes, this is the community's opportunity to be heard on hazard preparation and concerns.

The renewed planning is supported by a $125,000 Hazard Mitigation Planning Grant from federal disaster funds managed by the state. The plan will provide an opportunity to better understand the threats from natural and human-caused hazards and act to mitigate these threats.

ABOUT THE COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT

The Coast Community College District is located in Orange County and is among the largest districts in the United States. The District's three colleges – Coastline College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College – provide traditional degree and transfer opportunities, career and technical training, basic skills, English as a Second Language, and other community programs. Thanks to the Measure M community bond funding approved by voters in 2012, the Coast Colleges are in the midst of a $698 million revitalization of educational and student support infrastructure.
